I’ve been meaning to talk about one of the more interesting CPUs we’ve seen in the last 40 years. Created with the idea of parallel computing in mind, it was set to be the future of computing. While the technology worked, a change of government policy and forced sale to Thorn ultimately proved to be its undoing.
Thanks to a rather fortunate conversation in a pub one evening, I now have a transputer dev system, which is the catalyst for the latest video.
